Dayspring STEAM

Dayspring Christian Academy is on track to become the K-12 STEM epicenter for students in our area and surrounding communities. It will always be our goal to equip students with a Biblical foundation and worldview, but we also must equip students for the future through Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math — STEM.

In 1978, Steve Wozniak saw computers as the future and he helped shape that future when he invented the Apple I and II personal computers and launched Apple Computer with Steve Jobs. Most of us know what happened after that…some of you probably have a phone with a logo from “the fruit company” in your pocket right now! Since the invention of the Apple II computer, “The Woz”  has turned his creativity and ingenuity towards STEM education.

We are launching our own STEM initiative with Woz ED. It’s going to take time, but we are in the process of securing additional funding to implement Career Pathways for all grades at Dayspring. Things like Drones, 3D printing, Cybersecurity, and Robotics. We simply wanted to take time today to share with you our vision for the future, what we are currently working on, and what we can offer now.

Students can now enroll in Lego Robotics with the exciting and knowledgeable [insert teacher name]. They will use coding to program robots that perform real-world tasks. Who knows, your student might design a robot that can clean their room or wash your dishes! Seriously though, we don’t want students to wait another minute to experience STEM. We will keep you updated as we pursue STEM offerings with Woz ED and we always value your input and ideas. Feel free to pick up a Woz ED STEM Pathway sheet in back. Thank you!
